Welcome fifth graders and parents!

I will be adding different websites I want you to visit each week on my blog. You have until Friday to visit each website I post for a minimum of 30 minutes. By Friday morning, you will need to write one sentence telling me something you learned or something you liked about the website. The date and time of your post will appear on my blog. You may also use this website to ask me questions.

August 30 - September 3

This website will help you practice distinguishing between a sentence and a fragment. A sentence is made of a subject and a predicate. A fragment is another word for an incomplete sentence. Spend 30 minutes playing this game.

United States Map

Our first social studies lesson will involve learning about the geography of the United States.  You will need to memorize the location and spelling of all 50 states by the end of the first quarter.  Here is a fun website to help you. You will drag the name of the state to its location.  If you are incorrect, an X will pop up on the screen. You are required to spend 30 minutes practicing your state locations, but the more time you spend, the more you will memorize.  http://www.pibmug.com/files/map_test.swf
